Accessibility
Digital Factory strives to present all contents and essential website functions in a manner that is independent of any particular physical device or web browser used to view them. They are encoded using free and open technical standards and are accessible by means of web browsers that are adapted for persons with disabilities or sensory, motor or cognitive limitations.
The European Union, in its Council resolution from 25 March 2002, encourages the member states to take into account the need for digital contents to be accessible. In light of this recommendation, Law 34/2002, from 11 July, regarding information society services and electronic commerce, requires the Public Administrations to adopt the necessary measures for information available on its Internet websites to be accessible to persons with disabilities and the elderly, in accordance with generally recognized accessibility criteria, before 31 December 2005.
In compliance with this objective, the Digital Factpry website has been designed according to the accessibility recommendations in the first level of priority of the W3C WAI guidelines.
